Tokyo
A population of over 14 million makes Tokyo one of the largest cities in the world. There is always something going, especially in the Shinjuku and Shibuya districts, both of which rival New York City's Times Square for energy and excitement. Here below we have some of our insider's tips for you to enjoy Tokyo.
If you like sushi you've come to the right place. There are hundreds of sushi restaurants in Tokyo (shown above), many are part of major national chains with multiple locations in Tokyo, while others are independent restaurants.
While the metro or subway system is the quickest way around Tokyo, there is also a widespread network of narrow gauge trains (shown above). Running through residential districts -- and even backyards, these trains allow one to get a great view of everyday life in Tokyo.
Another alternative to the subway system are the water buses (shown above) that run through Tokyo's rivers and harbor. These provide another view of life above ground in Tokyo and provide a refreshing breeze during hot, humid summer days.
The sushi conveyor restaurants (shown above) provide a fast and affordable way to enjoy many different kinds of sushi. These are self-service which obviates any communication issues or orders getting lost in translation. You can check for recommendations on Yelp
